DAVE School begins production and presents models

Postby pthw199 » Sun Feb 05, 2006 7:27 pm

As announced this Thursday past, the DAVE School have entered a collaborative venture with WizKids to produce a short Mechwarrior film.

The DAVE School have since officially announced on their website that production has begun - this following the auditions held last week

In addition to this they have published a set of models produced by their students that, presumably, are intended to be used within the flick. These models include the MadCat IV displayed to the right (modelled by a Jose Torres), a Morningstar command vehicle and a Hadur fast support vehicle.

The models provide an interesting first glimpse into what we can expect to see when all is completed this coming summer. And it appears, thus far, that we can expect some good things!

Follow a direct link through to the rest of the models HERE.

Some nice stuff there and am looking forward to seeing the final production. Not too sure I like that VTOL though, it looks too ummmmm Gundam-ish for my tastes.

The rest is pretty cool though.

I believe I'm correct in saying that the Aurora class dropship was sort of available in limited numbers - and offered as prize support for a while. They do appear on ebay every now and then - the one on there at the mo seems to be heading for a £30-50 final price.

Apparently there will be a special screening at this years Gen Con and Origins convention. Although it will also be available to download online - as to when that will be I've no idea though.

I would be willing to bet that eventually most, if not all, will be cast in metal in CBT scale...Would help to extend their market, and help tie the two in together.

Well as you know IWM have started to cast quite a few of the MWDA miiatures in white metal, and as i think this particular design will become very popular just for its looks alone, i think there will be a very strong chance we will be seeing the Madcat IV cast in white metal real soon.... :D zac.
