Hey folks,
I'm looking to get an online game of BattleTech going for a few of my friends that are scattered all over the place. Since there's really no realistic time that we could all get together to play something online like Megemek, not to mention there's some tech 'challenged' folks in the mix, I'm leaning towards some sort of Play by Email or Post setup.
I've found a great mapping program with Heavy Metal Map (http://www.heavymetalpro.com/HMMap_Features.htm) which should fit my mapping requirements fine, but I'm having a bear of a time figuring out how to deal with Mech status.
I've found tons of programs that will spit out new mech sheets and even export them as HTML or images that I could post up to show the players their mech status. What I can't seem to find is an application that will let me export 'updated' sheets or images of the mechs as they're taking damage. Say for example a mech loses armor or a weapon, uses ammo, etc, I'd like to show that.
While I could probably do it all by hand, I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs that might handle that out of the box?
Thanks! |

I see two possibilities IF you have a scanner and possibly a pdf editor
You could keep track of everything on paper and scan a record sheet in everyday for each 'Mech OR you could scan a record sheet in and edit it in some kind of photoshop type thing. Even paint could work....
A much easier solution, if you're not a purist is to just keep track using numbers. Then you could post a text file or something. IE if a 'Mech has fifty armor points and takes forty points of damage just put 40/50 for CT Armor and away you go. This should save you a lot of time. |
