Ok i was scratching my head the other night as to how to make a Autocanon mount for a BD Marauder on the cheap, my bits box is vertually empty these days so my recourses are very limited. However over the years i have kept quite a few bits of the thick spru that hold the miniature parts together in the blisters, i selected a nice thick piece and cut it in two equal lengths so that i could make two Autocanon mounts i then filed the IWM logo and date off of it so it was all smooth, then rounded the rear end of the mount so it looked a bit like the real one, and then for some extra detail i added a couple of snipped off BB gun pellet heads to the sides of the mount.
Finally i have a roll of 3mm wire i cut two pieces to roughly the same size i wanted then half way down i started to file them to have tapered front ends, after another measure up i drilled a hole into the front of the scratch built weapon mounts and glued in the wire barrels. Once they are painted up i think they will look pretty good for a scratch build... zac
