FIFTEEN YEARS AGO TODAY!
Andrew (Odysseus) created our beloved website on January 4th, 2003.
We're OLD People by Internet standards.
Give a shout if you're still in the neighborhood.

Just going through some real life issues as of late.

That's OK Rav, you can call her a Homicidal Biyotch.

I do!

Thinking that I'd been here most of these past 15 years, I checked my Profile, and according to it I've only been here roughly half that time. :?

I know I signed up on the old CBT.Com back in 2000 or 2001, and after a "crash" there I found LotB and BTU, though I don't recall which order. I was sure I'd been with both sites for quite a while though. Oh well.

Happy Birthday BTU! :thumleft:

And THANKS to whoever it is here that keeps the lights on, and the gears greased! :thumleft: :thumleft:

Happy late birthday btu(better late then never, lol).

My memory might be off but when btu was first born wasn't it black and red?

If so I do apologize, in any case I am glad it is still around so here is hoping for another 15 years.

back in olden times, the first format was Black with Red highlights and white lettering.
then it switched to Black with Gold/Grey w/ white lettering.
we switched to the current iteration about 4 years ago, when we finally updated the forum software.

December 2003 is when I found this place through a web-search for more info on Battletech. I'd gotten DEEP into the Mechwarrior games. Had a lot of good times here. Heh...I've spent the past two hours looking through old posts, wondering what's happened to everyone since I was active.

Steve, Ravion, GRUD, Dart...I remember all you guys. Used to be a lot more of us. Sadly I've fallen out of contact with pretty much everyone. Was over at Battletech-Mercenaries for a while, doing the writing thing. Stepped away from CBT all together for several years.

It's crazy. I was what...15 years old when I found this site? Now I'm 31 and this place is still around. Whoever is paying the bills here, thank you. It's been a good trip down memory lane.

Any of you guys want to connect on FB, drop me a PM.

I was a fresh faced 29 year old when I first stumbled across BTU.
I had followed a link here from a thread over at LotB.
I was lurking those forums on-off for nearly 2 years.
but then,
I came here. Everything, everyone CLICKED.
So I put my name on the dotted line, raised my right hand and swore....

(wait a minute... wrong flashback)

but y'all get the idea.
I've been here since 2003. And I'll keep contributing until Speck refuses to re-up the site.
*and he better not...I know where he lives*

I am still around, not active like I use to be. Some time not long after BTU started I came around. Then inherited the web site hosting before/after Andrew left. I have not be able to put much time in on the website as I hoped. The 2009/2010 resfresh helped some with issues. But as time went on I had less free time after my work for IWM which has increased in what all I help with. Now it’s pretry much anything Battletech and the website I handle. A few weeks ago I made the decision to upgrade the forum and remove the old broken frontend and just have the forum. Now I can keep upgrades easier.
