Hall of Miniatures Rules

Post by Lawgiver » Sun Apr 10, 2005 11:22 pm

This section of the forum is set up to allow you to show off your painted BattleTech Miniatures. In posting your miniature please abide by the following rules:

-Please respect another's work and be professional when posting responses. Only constructive criticism will be tolerated. Remember the old adage, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

-Images of a single 'Mech should have a maximum of 400 pixels on their longest side. Of course exceptions are made on occasion but it should not happen with regularity.

-Panoramic pictures follow the above rule for each individual view within the collection. Each frame should have a maximum length of 400 pixels. The multi-view picture should have a maximum of 1200 pixels on its longest side. For example, a picture with two views of the same miniature may be 800 pixels wide x 400 pixels tall, or 400 pixels wide x 800 pixels tall.

-Pictures of dioramas, terrain, dropships, etc. are special case items that may require larger pictures. Please use digression in posting these items.

-Please submit photos of BattleTech related miniatures only at this time. A forum for other gaming systems may be created in the future if the demand presents itself.

-Please show respect for our dial-up users and our server by keep the file size of your photos to a minimum.

-While it should not need to be mentioned, all image content should be of a PG-13 rating or lower. The moderators of this forum reserve the right to remove any content they feel is offensive or egregious in any way.

-Please try to give your files meaningful names such as Username_MechName_Camo_Angle (i.e. Lawgiver_Awesome_Hotheads_Front). This is not required, but aids in photos being picked up by search engines such as Google and helps to drive traffic to the site.

-Please do not add any statistics or fluff for miniatures that have been posted in this forum, unless you are the submitter. Please post any additional information in the designs forum and them simply make a link from there to the subject you wish to add stat or fluff to here...

Please limit all posts in this thread to legitimate questions regarding the rules only. Thank you.

awww!
that means half of the female figures from hassle-free miniatures are not legit here. :P

now, my big questions for you!

A) is there a limit to the number of pictures we can post total, not just in a thread, but overall?
B) do you want us to unattach photos on old and obsolete threads to save you guys space?

A. There is not a limit but typically 3-5 are more than sufficient for 1 mini. Generally a Front view, Back View and a 3/4 view is sufficient. Additional pics of the base or handpainted decals are good excuses for additional pics.

B. Deleting photos from old threads is unnecessary. The limits are being put in place to prevent abuse and any future issues. Personally, I'd prefer the images not be removed. There are few things more annoying than looking at old threads about an awesome mini and only being able to see the little red X's of doom.
