25th anniversity Battletech Product announced!!!

Post by trboturtle » Sat Mar 07, 2009 11:55 am

It's been all over Battlecorps and the CBT site, but not a peep on here, so, I am taking a chance with my on-going war with the 'Invalid session please try again' banner, and I'm posting this:
As part of the 25th year celebration, Catalyst Game Labs is publishing Classic BattleTech: 25 Years of Art and Fiction. An over-sized, full-color deluxe book, it's filled with a huge retrospective of 25 years worth of art. Additionally, we've got something extra special planned. We've selected over a dozen "premier" illustrations that cover the gamut of style, subject matter, time period and artists. Authors are then generating in the neighborhood of a hundred thousand words of new, original fiction to mesh with those illustrations.
And a URL for more details!!

http://www.gametrademagazine.com/public ... c=58&s=581

And if you look far enough down the thread, you can find the cover image!

http://www.classicbattletech.com/forums ... 438.0.html

So, discuss!

Did anyone buy the PDF from Battlecorps yet? Is it worth the $20?

Heck yeah it's worth it. So much so, that I'm getting the hardcover, too. It's full of art, both old and new, including some stuff I've never seen before. I've read the first story and will read more on my days off this week.

So maxoconnor whats in it?
Does it shows color covers by Doug Chaffee and Les Dorscheild?
Does it have B&W illustrations? Do they present some of the pocket paper backs fiction cover art? Will the hard copy be in the style of "Paper tiger and TASCHEN" art books? How many pages long is it, and what page format will it be? Now, what will be the price for the Hardcover?

its 306 pages long.
It has mostly large scale images, many of which have been offered up as wallpapers in the past. There are several new pictures that say future publication for upcoming products. There are also some old unreleased images. They also have some stories, haven't read any of them yet.
There are also product listings for all the novels and many of the game books.

I love it, I would recommend getting at least the PDF.
its only $20.00
