Minatures Contest: Free Worlds League

Post by Blackhawk01 » Sun May 31, 2009 5:25 pm

Greetings all! Our next miniatures contest is upon us! We are finishing our series of contests featuring canon schemes of the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere. Our final House is the Free Worlds League.

You are to pick a canon mini that is common to House Marik. You are free to paint in in the canon FWL scheme of your choice. Examples of the available schemes can be viewed at www.camospecs.com .

All minis must be on finished bases. All minis must be canon IWM/Ral Partha minis, you may bash a canon variant if you wish. All entries must be new work painted for this contest not posted/published online or in print before.

When submitting your entries crop them as close to the mini itself as possible. Images should be at least 1000x1000 in order to be edited for posting in the contest. No Photoshop editing is permitted. I will edit for picture quality as needed.

The contest will run from June 1, 2009 through July 18, 2009. You may submit up to 2 entries. Submit your entries to: overlord67@yahoo.com

To sum up the contest rules:

1: Minis must be common to House Marik
2: Minis must be canon IWM/Ral Partha production/canon variants are permitted
3: Mini must be painted in a canon Free Worlds League scheme/ www.camospecs.com
4: Minis must be submitted on finished bases
5: Minis must be new work for this contest

Some final requirements for contest participation are:

1) All entrants must be registered members, in good standing, with BTU prior to entering the contest. They must register 24 hours before the closing date of the contest.

2) All voters must be registered members, in good standing, of BTU for at least three months prior to the contest close date.

Good luck and get to work! :D

The only GOOD thing to have come out of all the Jihad/dork age silliness is the destruction of the FWL. Serves them right for painting mechs in pinks and purples. Good riddence!!!!

The ravaged Free Worlders looked to the heavens with weary eyes. With their dirty hands they wiped away the radioactive dirt and muck from their machines of war. Carefully they climb the bent, broken armor and secure themselves in. They become as one with this machine and advance to the calling of one named Thomas to uplift the people , to defend the purple, to...Oh ! SORRY got carried away there

Painting contest...right...quite possibly

Nah, I gave up on contests a long time ago.
I hate parade schemes and most especially... Marik parade schemes.

I really don't have any interest in contests of any type.
I'm very much a mood builder and painter. Sometimes I can just start building something and I have no concept of time when I'm in the 'mech zone'. But I'll also go for months without painting anything.
I pretty much lost all interest in battletech after the end of the Fedcom civil war and didn't really get back into it until recently. With all of the munchkin silliness that now comes standard as part of the game and the visually hideous new designs, I've decided to just concentrate on the 2750-3050 era's.

I can actually relate to that as im pretty doing the same thing but ive desided to take my choosen era to 3055 simply as i actually like those original wacky mech designs. :D zac

I pulled something that'd been on the workbench for a while and polished it off right quick, so mine is done. Don't like how the photos came out though, so I may reshoot.

I was going to have a go but will have to wait till next time I was able to a min but getting the right decals from FPG was going to hold me up they could not give me a time line for delivery (could be 6 weeks could be 12) Exodus Road had some, but not the ones I would have liked. So next time… 8)

Mine's in. I've had all sorts of issues popping up with selling/moving houses, so I didn't get a chance to reshoot. I'm sacrificing for the good of the contest!
