Nice Idea

"And while I don't think anyone has ever committed suicide over a paintjob, I do understand the absolute frustration when the paint won't lay where you want it.
I believe we all know the feeling of pride and triumph when the final coat dries, and we are left with a finished mini.
Personally, I really look forward to that internal triumph when I finish a unit."

First let me say I like your blog and wish it all success.
Recently, I finally completed something, in my mind, that has been an irritation to me for almost 10 yrs.
10 yrs. ago my Battledroid Shadowhawk fell from the work bench(my fault) and broke it Med. Laser barrel. I repaired it, it broke again, a weak spot on an otherwise solid chunk of lead. I realize compared to real life this is nothing. The last 3 months. has Certainly reinforced that!!! New Baby, moved my Mother to my house(Alzheimers), Took over Guardianship on a mildly mentally retarded individual(he's been a part of the family for 50 yrs.), Had legal and other issues with tree cutters on the Family Farm, Had the Insurance cancelled on the farm, mind you after 40 yrs. with the same company. My Blessed Wife is currently cleaning up my mom's house with Evan (sure he's only 3 months, but he's gotta learn to carry his own load  ) Farm's been in the family since early 1800's. Mom has acccumulated alot.
Well back to my point, that Shadowhawk with its flaw has surely bugged me, like a blue suit with a red thread in it.
i've tried to replace it on more than one occassion, I think we all know how hard it is to find one of these in mint condition resonably priced. Recently I got lucky and found one painted by a Camo Spec. artist at a more than reasonable price. So I know it is a small thing but that sense of completion is there in having this new unbroken mini. In this case that is what counts.

Sorry to hear about the car woes. I spent a lot this last year on restoring my 1984 Chevy Blazer back to something like respectable; new floor, two new wings, two wheel wells, two mirrors, two new doors, and a respray. One of the reasons I didn't go to GenCon this year.

I absolutely LOVE Spc Anonymous' list!!!! But getting rid of Jump boots?!?! I would rather be a TSA security guard!!!!!!!

Here is the reason why.....that new blue uniform!!!

http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/08/a ... es_082008/

If the army want tradition, lets go back to before the '60s with Tans and Pink and Greens and no civilian clothes off post for Corporals and below!!!! :D :D Ffolkes now a days like troops!!!

Enjoyed the links to Uncrate. Found the Lego Super Star Destroyer, which looked awesome too.

Work stress, don't get me started... Start a new job on Monday, so fingers crossed it is better than the last one.

My best advice is to check the Chinese characters very carefully, meaning don't rely on a website for the correct translation because they can be notoriously incorrect. If you know someone who is Chinese, maybe Japanese but meaning isn't always the same, then ask them about the meaning. There was a website by the name of hanzismatter, http://hanzismatter.blogspot.com/, that may be able to help with this. You'll see the often hilarious results of bad translations at this web page.

I'm good, Jeff. Trying to drop in once in a while. I like to read "Ronin's Ramblings" even when he rambles! So I try to come by when I have time.
