I know the feeling bro.

I'm sitting here in a holding pattern myself hoping to get picked up.

Last contract expired 2 days before Xmas.

That's what I'm doing right now.

I interviewed for an IT Engineer position on Valentine's Day. I really want it and hope I can get it.

I'm wearing out LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, GlassDoor, and ClearanceJobs to name a few.
I've made my job finding a JOB.
Every weekday from 0800-1700 and Saturdays from 0900-1300: I'm checking jobsites and emails. And my iPhone only leaves my hip for bed and recharge.

I'll admit that it has been better this year than last for me. I'm getting more nibbles than last year.

It's just March is a lay-off month in the IT field.

And I'm still looking.

I've got around 24-25 certificates from Microsoft Virtual Academy now too.

Yeah, I'm a loser.

There are a few of us left around here, lurking in the shadows.

I did a bit of back-reading of your ramblings thread...well, back-skimming. If you're still writing, I'd like to invite you to a fairly active battletech writing community.

www.batteltech-mercenaries.com

It's a relatively small community of a dozen or so members. The timeline there is different from the canon starting in late 3067. No Jihad, the 2nd SL wasn't disbanded. I think currently the timeline is somewhere around April or May 3098. Anyway, everyone is either part of or runs their own in-game merc unit. It's a pretty neat system of writing/roleplay and I think you'd enjoy it if you're still writing.

I play MWO fairly often, although I have a great many issues with how PGI built the game. And the HBS BattleTech I have also. Although I haven't played it since I beat it, and I've yet to play multiplayer. If you want, friend me on Steam. I go by CoyoteJohn.

Hello Blackheart and RAV.

RAV, I feel ya. It used to be that weekends were mini-vacations from work.
these days, my weekends are time for all the other jobs I DON'T get paid for.

Blackheart. Thanks for the invite.
I am trying to find time to write, because I've got a couple of great stories beating my brain stem to a pulp.
But I've always been stuck in the pre-Invasion history of things.
Heck, I've got a few twinkling ideas for pre-Age of War stuff....

Hey Steve, just been skimming your ramblings posts. I think it’s awesome that your keeping at least one forum alive. I’m saddened to see the state of the fan fic forum, my life has been too crazy to do any writing since my last post in 2016!!! And I’m still near the top of pg 1?!

Keep posting and ill promise to make time to keep reading (gods forbid I actually have time to respond)

Cheers,

Capt’n

Thankee Cap'n, for your kind words.

it is my observation that while the new tactical BATTLETECH game has gathered a huge new following of fans,

many of those fans have not yet taken the step to our TableTop side of the hobby.

That failure is one I place squarely at the feet of CATALYST.

As it is, the social media regarding TT BT has EXPLODED, with new fans paying HUGE markups on eBay for 10+ year old box sets.

While the wave of new fans WON'T be as large due to CATALYST's abysmal failure, I believe it is only a matter of time before OUR old fan sites see LOTS of new blood.
